In addition to playing trivia quizzes I also create them - online.
Now I enjoy creating them more than I do playing them. It's more of a learning experience and a good way to know all kinds of facts. Anybody else here a trivia freak? |

I enjoy them too. Particularly General Knowledge, History and Geography quizzes.

I loath trivia - really can't see the point but then I'm a boring old fart.
 The only knowledge my brain will take in and retain is knowledge I
NEED to know, anything else it ditches immediately. I really wish I was like you and GG because my general knowledge is the pits and it can be embarrassing.
That said I like jigsaws, crosswords, Scrabble and of course our Ditto games.

Well Julia trivia is as the word means "unimportant stuff". The kind of useless facts that can earn you thousands of pounds on the right TV show.
Then it would be useful to know . But other than that it is pretty useless and unimportant to know.
I don't consider knowing all this trivia stuff, a real accomplishment of any sort. Even intellectually it's nothing to really brag about. Knowing all this alone does not make a person smart or intelligent. It's not what a person knows but what a person can do that impresses me the most. Clever pundits out there ( like me ) are a dime a dozen, but real
intellects with real talent are more of a prize.
I have more of a regard for a person who can cook like a gourmet chef, or who is a whiz at fixing auto problems than I do for someone who can answer all the questions on the TV show Jeopardy or "Who Wants To Be A MIllionaire". But of course if you can answer all the questions on the show you'll be worth thousands in pounds or dollars ( or maybe euros ). |
