As to the 'encounter' it happened many years ago while I was working away from home. I rented a Bedsitter for a time. The Room was in an old house near the Seafront in Southend. One night I had some reading to catch up with so, was sitting in Bed, when I heard my next door neighbours door open and footspets go down the hall.

Around 10ish I decided to sleep, so turned off the light and was settling down. I then heard footspets come down the hall, but paid no heed, however and I want to stress I was wide awake, heard what sounded like a door openning, and then felt a body climb right over the top of me, and settle down on my arm which was pushed into the bed.
Of course I at once 'snapped' on the light, but there was nothing there. I stayed awake the rest of the night and then come morning moved out. The house like a number in the area was quite old but of course when I related the 'Happening' to others, I was asked the colour of hair etc, etc, but it did happen, I was not asleep, and still remember what happened these many years since.

Where I live there are times when you just know your not alone, I have never seen anything, but do from time to time experience something being there.

As to the Dimension theory, I have often wonder how to explain "apparitions", and allowing that Religion or "another world theory" plays little or know part in 'seeing', two things spring to mind.

The First is that (and just resently Stephen Hawkins stated he believed that there were up to 11 Dimensions in our world), we know that there are 4 Dimension and allowing like all theories, when reseach is started new idea's and proofs come to light, if we are living with other Dimensions around us it could mean that every now and again they 'open to each other'. Plus secondly, and this is taking the Theory even further, is it possible that a record of events are in some ways 'imprinted' on the surroundings of a place, and then a trigger sets them off.
As I grow older I tend to make more allowances as to things I would have laughed at in my youth.

I am coming to believe Dartmistress, that "All is not as it seems". There have been many accounts of 'happenings' when people experience a visitations..

If we just take one small step on, then would it not be possible that deep within our Brains there is much we don't even know is there.
Is it possible that like a Radio receivier, or Transmitter we can project and receive, for want of a better word 'Visions'. So allowing for the sake of disscussion, we can receive and can transmit, even though we don't know we are doing it.
The Mind is so complex that and only now are we starting to unreaval it's power, so I like to believe that is some way 'happenings' if powerful enough, stay locked in a surrounding and so when someone enters with their reciever 'On' things which we can't explain, happen.
The Older I get, the more open minded I become, well there are still somethings I find difficult to accept, but I am working on those things.
