Any type of question will be great, even a personal one if you're looking for advice. If you're stuck for ideas, try looking through the old Daily Quesion Thread HERE. Please don't worry if the question has been asked before; new members join all the time that haven't seen old questions. You can create a new question anytime from around midnight (UK time). If you post one say Monday evening, it will be better if you call it 'Tuesday's Question' rather than Monday's to give it more time to run. Just one question a day please. I try to prioritize, because maintenance and/or improvements can be a constant concern when you have a home. I don't fret about it though, just take things in stride.

Our back garden fence blew down many months ago and Ive only just had it fixed! I noticed one of the drains is blocked yesterday and must get that done soon.

About the only regular maintenance I attend to is 'pc' and garden maintenance....some daily tasks, some weekly.

Were holidays invariably reasonably close to home rather than the worldwide travel options that we have today?

I can't remember anybody going on holiday when I was small. The summer holidays from school were the time of freedom to explore. I loved it. Whether this was summer holidays or whenever, I'm not sure. I remember visiting London, Scarborough, Blackpool, Whitley Bay, places in Scotland...etc. Once we moved to Canada, we lived on the prairies, and each summer travelled to Jasper and Banff in the Rockies where we camped. My brother especially loved that because he'd go trailriding on horseback. One memory is of the two of us finding a wooden raft at the side of a lake in the Rockies. We found a long pole and pushed ourselves around the edge...the lake was glacier blue and clear. One of our summer trips took us to Vancouver and Vancouver Island...my parents loved the area, and eventually we moved here.

We have never gone anywhere, summer hollidays were just great cause you didn't have to go to school. We'd play on the streets with the neighbour kids and go to the beach or the swimmingpool. The first time I went to a different country I was about 12 years old and we went to Belgium (about 1 hour travel hahaha), but I still have great memories about them days. I have never had the feeling that I missed things.

Neither were very far away from home, but to me, those holidays were the best and I loved them, and I have wonderful memories of my childhood holidays.
