Nicolas Cage, he can be a bit hit and miss imo. Brilliant in Red Rock West though.

Sometimes.

Haven't been since DRacula with Gary Oldman was out.

Drama/thriller/action.

The Fox and the Hound.

21. What movie do you wish you had never seen?
The Time Machine, Guy Pearce's heart was so obviously not in it, who could blame him, but why he did it lord knows. And Funny Games, a truly macabre film, as was Audition.

22. What is the weirdest movie you enjoyed?
A.I. is pretty darn weird. But I'll say The Passion of Darkly Noon.

23. What is the scariest movie you've seen?
Halloween. And Mute Witness which was pretty terrifying, and no supernatural boogeymen. The Grudge was uncomfortable viewing too, made me want to turn it off and have a recovery period.

24. What is the funniest movie you've seen?
Tootsie is probably the most intelligent comedy with the most clever lines, I've seen it so many times it doesn't quite have the same effect but it's still great.

~~ Most of what I like is weird Donnie Darko comes to mind, the Fifth Element for its completely daft humour. Magnolia was pretty effing weird but I only enjoyed it moderately.

~~ The Ring. I did not sleep for literally 3 days straight. It disturbed something in my psyche, was a brilliant movie for that very reason but I won't watch it again.

~~ Sooo many. Clerks is definitely a candidate (and anything Kevin Smith touches)

More than 10 times? I´m not sure, but Hatari, Rio Bravo and El Dorado might come close (we had those three on video when I was young, and yes, I love westerns) I´ve seen Pretty Woman really often, too.

All three LOTR films, The Matrix (4 times, coughs), Legends of the Fall

Anything with Joaquin Phoenix. Even watched 8mm just for him. Also watched Body of Evidence for Willem Dafoe, but gave up quite quickly. Who said Madonna sucked above?

Haha, I even went to see the latest Jean-Claude van Damme film (which was great, and the first van Damme I ever watched), so only Steven Seagal is left on the snob-list

On DVD, only LOTR I and II. On video, some more, but my video recorder is broken. Those I bought on video (as opposed to recording from TV): True Romance, Pi, The English Patient, Legends of the Fall, Macbeth (the Polanski version), Othello (the one with Kenneth Branagh and Laurence Fishburne).

Hm, David Bowie has already been named ... Mick Jagger isn´t too bad either. And Sting is good.

I almost walked out of Judge Dredd. It was dreddful.

The Last Samurai (when all the samurai got killed by machine gunfire), LOTR part III (when Théoden died), Juno (don´t remember why), Titanic

Sometimes, and only salty.

I´d say about 6 to 10 times a year.

J.C.V.D. (the latest van Damme). Before that, The Dark Knight.

Good action, good comic adaptations, and good book adaptations like Jane Austen films or Shakespeare.

Empire of the Sun (happens to be Christian Bale´s first film for the cinema) , The Name of the Rose

Judge Dredd.

Haha, I looove weird films. Night Watch was really weird and I dug it, while the guy my best friend and I watched it with said it was one of the crappiest films he had ever seen!! Agnes liked it too though, and we agree he has no taste!!

23. What is the scariest movie you've seen?
The Descent. Could not sleep all night and was still distubed the next day, my best friend was even worse. It´s absolutely brilliant though, but I´d only watch it again if somebody held me all night afterwards.
I also find it really hard to watch anything about the Holocaust. Schindler´s List left me depressed for a whole week. I know it´s not my fault, but I cannot bear the guilt I feel just for being German. I tried to watch Life is Beautiful and could not bear it. The "funny" touches made it even worse for me.

24. What is the funniest movie you've seen?
Hmmmm. I´m not really keen on so-called funny movies because I rarely find them funny. Spontaneously, I´d say The Life of Brian.

Great answers so far.

Scary films you and Steve mentioned, The Descent, that is true horror isn't it. Come back Gollum, all is forgiven.

And the Ring, did you mean the Japanese or US film? I've seen both but on the Japan dvd there is an extra where you can watch Sadako's video, oh no I did, and I have a tv in my bedroom! I wanted to throw my duvet on it to stop her coming out to get me, could not sleep.

Heather: I've never seen the original Ringu, and I never will.

Zion: I loved Final Destination when it first came out, very original. Had been the first movie in ages that had me glued to the screen and jumping at the jumpy moments, haha. The sequals however..

The Butterfly Effect is another good one, I dug how it messed with your head.

I have no idea. Remember going to the cinema in Germany but I have no idea what was playing. Got bored and started messing around and eventually got thrown out of the cinema (with friends) so the film couldn't have been that good. Before you pass judgement bare in mind that I was no older then 10.

The Ring, Final Destination. Horror films = nightmares.

The Ring. I couldn't sleep properly for a couple of weeks.

The Meaning of Life, if only because there was a boy I liked at the time who had been a good friend then turned into a complete arse. So when they said about a third world country then went to Yorkshire I had to laugh because he was from Yorkshire originally. Of course I mean no offense to you Louise but at the time it made me feel better about losing a friend and crush.

You sound very definite about not seeing Ringu, Steve.

I like Naomi Watts but I didn't like the remake at all, especially the scene with the horse.

The Butterfly Effect isn't bad but I wasn't comfortable with the notion that people are a jinx or something.

^ Actually I appreciated how it demonstrated the devastating possibilities of screwing with time. I think the true message was that any small decision or occurance can drastically change everything, and even if you could've changed things, it might not necessarily have been for the better. Donnie Darko had a similar premise.

Yeah but how it finished up was the only way his life didn't cause misery in some way for someone was if he wasn't born. So not a conclusion I liked, but hey I only watched it for Ashton Kutcher anyway.

In that one he survives, but changes the course of things for him and Callie?

I actually preferred the ending where he dies.

I don't insist on happy endings.

It was the message in The Butterfly Effect I didn't like. I mean it's not a happy ending in Donnie Darko, but I see that differently because that's not averting something he caused, he simply chose to make a sacrifice out of love by making something happen to himself instead. I suppose in essence that's what he's doing in The Butterfly Effect but as I say the difference there is that his entire existence is the cause of disaster for someone or other no matter how he changes things, and I think that's an iffy message, like saying some people are jinxes. I sense I'm desecrating a well-loved movie here. I'm sorry.

I'm being a nerd too.
