I have 163 You Tube favourites in my account. I thought it would be nice to share some of my fave faves! Hope others will do the same! I am especially keen to
share some of the lessrer know artists and ordinary folk with talent. The first is in my top ten faves- Iona Leigh with a stunning song "Ocean"

What a great idea for a thread, though I wonder if the one thread for everyone would be better than people creating their own YouTube fave threads else the
music forum could end up swamped with YouTube threads.
What do you think? |

I think the one thread for everyone is a better idea as it would probably get out of hand!

Thank you, Wayne.
I really like the Schiller I Feel You, and love Fields of Gold, but by far prefer the Sting version. Heather, I quite like the Stereophonics but can't stand the racket of live performances. |

I'm a Sarah Brightman Fan and I love Schiller-here they are together with "I've seen it all" The last concert I went to was John Martyn at the Lowry in Salford. He was drunk and had had one leg
removed following an infection. But he still has written some great songs in his life including this one! "Sweet Little Mystery"

I admit Sarah Brightman can sing but I find her very sickly. If that's her singing with Schiller, it's a side of her I've never heard before. I like the rhythm in this song. John Martyn guy is pretty good too, but he needs to wipe that sweat from his face. Hmmm, let me think what I can post … let's see if I can find a Kate Bush since she's such a great entertainer. Okay, here's my favourite Kate Bush song - Army Dreamers. How sad!

I'm a hyper massive super Kate Bush fan! LOOOOOOVe Army Dreamers and everything she's ever done. I will include some of her stuff later. Sarah
Brightman isn't to everyones taste-I didn't like her until she started to do more contemporary stuff. I didn't like her West End Musical or
Classical spells. John always sweats-hes's a heavy drinker and not a health fanatic. It was Sarah singing on that Schiller and this is one of my other
faves by her. I love her look in this video and her hair is fabulous as well as the rest of her
When I was in hospital in 1985 after a nervous breakdown this song was always playing and so I gained an affection for it: The Dream Academy "Life in a Northern Town"

I agree Sarah Brightman is a lot better doing contemporary stuff. I wouldn't have recognised her in the video had you not said it was her. She doesn't
look half as sickly with her hair and make up like that.
I'm sorry to hear you were poorly in 85 and hope you're never plagued with the illness again.

I have my moments-but never as bad as that! I hope I'm not hogging this thread! Here's another fave from a couple of years back Kate Havnevik and
"Kaleidoscope" Again I'm having the embedding problem.

I really like that!
Re the embedding, are you remembering to click the HTML button to make it turn yellow after you typed your message? Here's one of my fave 60s songs which I still love to this day! Baby Please Don't Go ~ Them
Or, if you prefer, AC/DC |

Interesting choices guys. Here is a pleasant tune by Katie Melua, but with a very, very weird and strange video that you feel you want to turn off, but human nature being what it is you are likely to stay glued to it to the end. |

Like Them! Had forgotten "them". Don't like AC/Dc but have all Katie Meluas Cd's!! As regards the HTLM button I did press it but made no
difference-still can't embed in the same post as my text!
The first of my next two is by Renaissance "Forever Changing" Annie Haslam ,the singer, is a Bolton Girl as I found out in about 1978 when I went one of their concerts. It was one of my all time favourite concerts. The second is the first of my Kate Bushes. I love her latest album "Ariel"-her best perhaps, but this is an earlier one "Sensual World" Great video |

I find Sarah very average. Kate Bush on the other hand is distinctive and a great entertainer.
Here's my three fave oldie blues songs. The rhythm in these drives me crazy and I just love the harmonica!
Muddy Waters - Mannish Boy John Lee Hooker: Boom boom Howlin' Wolf - Smokestack Lightning |

Thanks for those Julia. I like some of the Blues stuff, though I am a big folky really! I know and like all the songs and artistes you included. Years ago I
went to watch BB King at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester-he was a phenomenal guitarist! I also liked John Mayall and his Bluesbreakers. In the late 60's
and early 70's lots of the Rock bands were influenced by BB King and the people you have included. Next I want to share Nico. Born Christine Pafgen she was
a German model who fell in with Andy Warhol and his clan in the 60's and also spent some time as singer with the Velvet Underground before going solo and
producing some very unique solo albums which are still totally original 30 odd years later. You will probably find her rather depressing! She struggled with
heroin addiction all her life and was killed in a cycling accident in Ibiza in 1988. She also spent some time living in a flat with the punk poet John Cooper
Clarke in Manchester. Although her music and voice are dour I find her fascinating as there is something very sad about her whole life. These 3 songs show 3
phases of her career from innocent pop to her more psychedelic stuff. I have missed out her Velvet underground days as it would have been too much-but she is
like Marmite your either love her or hate her! These songs are "I'm Not Saying", "Purple Lips" and "No one is there".
