OMG Gawayne! The Cowsills, now there's a blast from the past! I actually had this 45. The flip side was Ship Of Fools, if I remember correctly.

Funny how some music (like Soul) live on for decades and others .... just date. These are soooooo dated! They were okay then, but not now!

Julia I think their charm is in that they ARE dated-they represent a time long gone. Soul (which I never could stand) is more timeless in that it doesn't
represent a certain era. My sister was a big soul fan in the 60's and 70's and we were always arguing as I was a folk and rock fan! I gained a strong
dislike for soul which has slightly abated now as I get older -but I still find it (paradoxically) rather soulless music! Anyway more of the dated stuff from
the UK this time:

I see your point, Wayne, and can't argue with that.
I used to love the Zombies 'She's Not There'. The Small Faces were okay and the Move 'Flowers in the rain' was good too. Here's one I don't think has dated. I still like it after all these years. The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset |

I loved all these. I think the music that we loved when we were younger, had a lot to do with what we were doing at the time.
I loved Itchyco Park. Lazy Sunday afternoon. The kings. Always think of sunday afternoon sat around in the park, with lots of other people, playing the radio. The weather always seemed sunny. |

Great Mellow Yellow-quite rightly! Here's the last from me by Donovan before it becomes a Donovan thread! PS There's no hidden message-just a
joke by the guy who posted it - I think!

Also a good one!
I guess we have kind of 'Donovanized' the thread, eh? |

I like the Jefferson Airplane and Buffalo Springfield but I much preferred Dylan to Donovan.
My two Dylan faves which I still love after all these years - in fact they're on my Playlist. |

I agree. I have most of Dylans stuff. Loved him since i was a girl. Never knew you liked him Julia. Although i adored him. I wasn't into all the protest
stuff at such a young age.

I was never really a Dylan fan- I am the opposite, I preferred Donovan! I liked Dylans songs performed by others-but never really took to his voice-great
songwriter, but better when others did them! I like Buffalo Springfield though and Crosby Stills Nash (and Young ). In some ways the Doors were the "bad boys" of the Flower Power period-but Jim Morrison was such an amazing character that I had to include this:
