Thought this might be a good idea for a topic.

FANTASTIC idea for a thread, Heather - you rock!!
What a treat, I loooove that laser acrobatics scene from Ocean´s Twelve, Vincent Cassel did that himself, btw, he practises that sport, whatever
it´s called. Isn´t he just dead sexy, btw, like a panther - just imagine what his marriage with Monica Bellucci must be like, I´d say explosive to say the
least.

Here´s a tribute to Chris Cooper (one of my favourite actors) in American Beauty (I´d also like to bow to Wes Bentley and Kevin Spacey, two other favourites, and the whole film is outstanding anyway). |

Note how I managed to embed a YouTuve video properly for the first time - one day I might even learn how to post links properly.

Great clip, all the better for the rain. I've only seen maybe the last half hour of that film but it is good. I like Chris Cooper too, especially in Bourne
Identity.
I did hear that Vincent did that himself, amazing. Love that scene, music, how skilled he is. Capoeira - looked it up because the name escaped me too.
Well done on embedding your youtube, you gave it a border too. |

Capoeira - yes, that´s it, you´re good!!
I just watched it again, I love the song too, perfect setting, music, idea and actor. |

Now to Good Will Hunting - one of my favourite films, and definitely one of the best scenes here, although - there are many.
"See, the sad thing about a guy like you is that in 50 years you´re gonna start doing some thinking of your own ..." Aren´t Ben and Matt just brilliant in that film, and Robin Williams too.

There's so much brilliant dialogue.

Guess why I hated uni so much!! I thought it would be the greatest time of my life, and while I really enjoyed the learning, I´d say 80% of the people were
insufferable. The ones who thought they were the most intelligent were the worst - and what a waste of time and energy it is to study some obscure, let´s say,
poet, and think that´s what makes the world go round. You know how much I love poetry, and languages, and Shakespeare, and all that jazz, but I´m not a snob.

You're not a snob at all.
I never even did my exams at 16 let alone beyond, I couldn't wait to leave school to be honest, but before all my art coursework was stolen and other things occurred I was planning on art college, however, my dad had the same idea at my age and went to view the college, his impressions of the students meant he never went back.
You mentioned you loved learning, that's the only thing I miss about being in school actually, the work. |

This doesn´t exactly fit this thread, but I thought you´d enjoy it anyway - Alexander Mahone (William Fichtner) versus Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) in
Prison Break Season 2. Still think you should watch that (starting with Season 1, of course - no Mahone there though, he´s the agent who chases
Michael after his escape). The great thing about the two is that they´re both brilliant thinkers and Mahone is the only one who is clever enough totrack
Michael.

Great clip, Cass, thanks because I had looked for clips of Prison Break and couldn't really find anything that showed what it was like as well as that
clip. People say it's as good as 24 so I'll definitely see it.
Shame Mahone and Scofield aren't much to look at though.
I'm going to edit the topic title because it's daft to rule out tv.

Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper - True Romance (probably one of the best dialogues and scenes in the history of movies) I should probably say: Warning, contains violence.

Love the laser dance scene from Oceans. Can't believe I have never seen Good Will Hunting, must put that one on my list.
Also, I've never seen Prison Break before. I always said that I wanted to see it, but never could remember which day it came on. I liked this scene from Pirates 2, mostly because I never saw it coming! |

That was brilliant, Bruce!!
"Intriguing. I wish I had more time to discuss this."
"What is your one purpose in life?" - "To explode, of course." - "And you can only do it once, right ..." - "That is correct."

What a great idea for a thread, Heather!
I've only just noticed it and see I've missed quite a bit. I shall catch up with all the vids posted
so far when I get a moment.
For me, it has to be Jerry Maguire's You had me at hello! I love the film's theme tune too - Bruce Springstien's Secret Garden .

I liked all those. That scene from True romance was a little violent but I've seen worse, I'd not seen it before, insane.
I was surprised to see Barbossa come down the stairs too. I'm
quite glad when I get behind with things like Pirates or 24 because you can see the next installment immediately.
Bruce, I nearly didn't watch it, thanks to your philosophy warning. I've never seen that film, good scene.
I've never seen Jerry maguire, Julia, but that was a lovely scene.
I never saw it coming!I now have to post the ultimate scene that had that effect. Oh except I can't! In case anyone saw it who's not seen it, major plot spoiler. I was thinking of The Usual Suspects of course.

That was Tom Cruise? I've seen the film, loved the film, but he didn't make the slightest impression on me. I thought he was dull in personality and
average in looks compared to the old Hollywood movie stars.
I can't even place her name.
